StockRight is a customized software and service program that is created to professionally manage the cigarette category for chain retailers. The StockRight system uses advanced internet technology to manage the cigarette category at the store level. StockRight is designed for, but not limited to managing cigarettes. StockRight can be used as an inventory Control Program for any category.
Adopting the StockRight system will simplify the ordering process for your retail locations. With the StockRight system, any store associate will be able to effectively order cigarettes. The StockRight program is designed custom to each retailer's specific ordering process. There are currently four interfacing methods for the StockRight system: POS Data, Handheld Units, Internet, and reporting through the Wholesaler.
If your store doesn't have POS Data available, store associates simply report the on hand inventory to StockRight. Once the inventory is reported, StockRight algorithms insure that each retail location has the correct inventory stocking levels. StockRight will then calculate the on hand inventory with the correct stocking level to create a replenishment order for each location. Finally, StockRight submits the order to the designated wholesaler.
If your store was to transmit POS Data with the StockRight System, a perpetual inventory would be kept through the communication of the StockRight Server and your POS Server at your corporate office. With the perpetual inventory being recorded, on ordering day StockRight will calculate the on hand inventory with the correct stocking level to create a replenishment order for each location. Finally, StockRight submits the order to the designated wholesaler. Each store would be required to submit a periodic physical inventory of the cigarette category to determine any store shrink.
The History of StockRight:
The concept of Cigarette Category Management was first introduced in 1988. It was developed at the request of many retailers who were looking for a resolution, to controlling the costs and profitability of the cigarette category.

Once the program was written, a field test was developed with 60 Exxon Corporate Stores. The program was a tremendous success. In 1991 the computer code was re-written at the request of retailers who were looking to achieve even better results. In 1992, the software was installed in a 35 store Rx Chain and proved to be a success in the Pharmacy environment. In 1996, the program was online at 150 locations of the New England convenience store chain, Christy's. The program continued to show proven success through 2000, but due to a buyout of the parent company, the program was no longer made available.
