Interfacing With StockRight:
Being that each retail chain has different ordering processes, the StockRight program is designed custom to each retailer's application. PROCAT Management Services will develop a custom interface (method of transmitting data with StockRight) for each StockRight Customer. There are currently four interfacing methods for the StockRight system that can be customized to most ordering processes: POS Data, Handheld Units, Internet, and reporting through the Wholesaler.
  1. POS Data Method
If your store was to transmit POS Data with the StockRight System, a perpetual inventory would be kept through the communication of the StockRight Server and your POS Server at your corporate office. With the perpetual inventory being recorded, on ordering day StockRight will calculate the on hand inventory with the correct stocking level to create a replenishment order for each location. Finally, StockRight submits the order to the designated wholesaler. Each store would be required to submit a periodic physical inventory of the cigarette category to determine any store shrink.

  2. Handheld Unit Method
By using an in store handheld device, store associates simply take an on hand inventory and upon completion submit the data electronically to StockRight. Once the inventory is reported, StockRight algorithms insure that each retail location has the correct inventory stocking levels. StockRight will then calculate the on hand inventory with the correct stocking level to create a replenishment order for each location. Finally, StockRight submits the order to the designated wholesaler.

  3. Internet Method
In cases where internet access is available in each store, store associates simply access a store specific password protected web sit to access the stores inventory guide. By using this online inventory guide, store associates take an on hand inventory, enter the inventory into the web page and click "submit." The inventory will electronically be reported to StockRight. Once the inventory is reported, StockRight algorithms insure that each retail location has the correct inventory stocking levels. StockRight will then calculate the on hand inventory with the correct stocking level to create a replenishment order for each location. Finally, StockRight submits the order to the designated wholesaler.

  4. Wholesaler Method
For stores that are currently placing orders directly with the wholesaler, store associates simply report the on hand inventory to StockRight at the time of their normal order, they would place their on hand inventory in the place of where they would normally place the quantity they would want to receive. Once the inventory and order is received by the Wholesaler, they will put the stores inventory into an electronic folder at a specific time for StockRight to "get." Once the inventory is reported, StockRight algorithms insure that each retail location has the correct inventory stocking levels. StockRight will then calculate the on hand inventory with the correct stocking level to create a replenishment order for each location. Finally, StockRight will electronically "put" the completed order in a specific folder at a predetermined time. Once the file is returned, the Wholesaler processes the order as usual. PROCAT will coordinate the electronic file transfers with the Wholesaler.
